SUBSIDE Task 1.0 - Creation of centralized subsidence data collection services

Subsidence Data Management and Analytics Services The creation of a centralized storage allocation with API access to streamline data federation between cataloged subsidence data collections and registered data from other sources. The data collection services will focus on making subsidence data collections discoverable with the goal of providing informational resources for various evaluations and decisions made by potential end-users. The design for prototype services will consider an architecture that enables data ingest and storage with metadata and data formatting guidelines.

• Deliverable 1.1 – Define and submit storage allocation to advanced computing services, such as the Corral data storage.

• Deliverable 1.2 – Provide a report summarizing results of a review of similar subsidence data and analytics information systems, such as those implemented by the State of California or the U.S. Geological Survey.

• Deliverable 1.3 – Develop a report providing a general best practice overview for data governance and licensing recommendations for subsidence data ingested and registered with the state subsidence program.

• Deliverable 1.4 –Document a conceptual design with recommended user interface and user experience features for a data discovery portal.

• Deliverable 1.5 –With assistance from the USGS, develop metadata guidelines that are compatible with the metadata approaches adopted by Texas Disaster Information System (TDIS) and TWDB water data hub. The USGS is expected to assist TACC, UT Austin with metadata development to ensure that the recommended metadata guidelines and formats will work with various scales and types of subsidence data.
