TPWD Ecological Mapping Systems of Texas vegetation polygons, Kerr County

Summary. Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Ecological Mapping Systems of Texas (EMST): statewide vegetation and land-cover polygons mapped at ~10 m from 2009-2015 imagery and lidar.

Scenarify role. Land-use/roughness polygons via a custom mapping (vegetation type to Manning's n and interception), higher resolution than NLCD and more complete than OSM in rural areas.

Access. TPWD download page (geodatabase by region, free). Clip to Kerr County.

Format and CRS. File geodatabase / shapefile polygons with vegetation-type attributes; Texas Centric Albers (EPSG:3083) or NAD83. Reproject to EPSG:6343.

Coverage. Texas; Edwards Plateau phase mapped ~2011-2013.

Provenance and caveats. Static snapshot; does not capture post-2015 development around Kerrville.
