Characterized by an expansive subtropical climate, Texas is a high-risk zone for localized vector-borne disease transmission. Identifying geographic risk hotspots is important for public health planning, enabling the strategic prioritization of healthcare infrastructure and the rapid mobilization of vector management interventions. Under projected climate change scenarios, shifts in temperature thresholds and precipitation patterns are expected to expand the geographic range of viable habitats, dramatically increasing environmental suitability across the state and amplifying the future likelihood of multi-vector intersection. Map shows a predictive, changing landscape of vector-borne disease risks across Texas. By integrating high-resolution bioclimatic data (CHELSA) with multi-species occurrence records using Biomod2, the study delineates habitat suitability under current baselines and future climate projections (SSP370).
