  • Updated description of Downscaled Daily 1km Climate Data (NEX-GDDP-CMIP6) for Southeast Texas from

For the SETx-UIFL, daily climate projections were downscaled from the NASA Earth Exchange Global Daily Downscaled Projections (NEX-GDDP-CMIP6) dataset. NEX-GDDP-CMIP6 provides high-resolution climate scenarios derived from CMIP6 global models under the four Tier 1 Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSPs), developed for the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report. A subset of ten NEX-GDDP-CMIP6 models was selected for SETx-UIFL to provide robust daily projections of future climate conditions in Southeast Texas. These models were chosen to represent a balance of model families, climate sensitivities, and availability across scenarios, ensuring a diverse and reliable ensemble for regional analysis. The selected models are: - BCC-CSM2-MR - CESM2 - CMCC-ESM2 - CNRM-ESM2-1 - EC-Earth3 - FGOALS-g3 - GFDL-CM4 - MPI-ESM1-2-HR - MRI-ESM2-0 - NorESM2-MM The following daily variables were downscaled for SETx-UIFL: - `tasmax` – Near-surface maximum air temperature - `tasmin` – Near-surface minimum air temperature - `tas` – Near-surface mean air temperature - `pr` – Daily precipitation total - `hurs` – Near-surface relative humidity - `huss` – Near-surface specific humidity - `rsds` – Surface downwelling shortwave radiation - `rlds` – Surface downwelling longwave radiation - `sfcWind` – Near-surface wind speed These downscaled data support regional impact analysis and can also be applied in other scientific studies requiring localized climate projections. The original dataset is publicly available at: [https://doi.org/10.7917/OFSG3345](https://doi.org/10.7917/OFSG3345).

For the SETx-UIFL, the daily NASA Earth Exchange Global Daily Downscaled Projections (NEX-GDDP-CMIP6) dataset climate projections were downscaled from ~27km to 1km. The SETx dataset provides very high-resolution climate data for the historical (1950-2014) and future scenarios derived from CMIP6 global models under the four Tier 1 Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSPs 1.26, 2.45, 3.70 & 5.85), developed for the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report.
